Some examples of items and services for which grants may be given to make life easier for those experiencing financial hardship:

Household Items & Clothing

  • Furniture, washing machines, dryers, fridge freezers, cookers, heaters, bedding, clothing, footwear, carpets and curtains.

Housing

  • Paying for decorating, insulation and repairs.

  • Cost of alterations to the homes of people who are disabled or unwell.

Training and Work

  • Costs of tuition fees, training, books, exams and tools, especially if they lead to improved employment opportunities and the prospect of applicants supporting themselves in the future.

 

 

Other examples

  • Paying for travel to visit relatives in hospitals, care homes, children’s homes or prison.

  • Giving money to other charities or organisations which provide support for local people in need.

NB Please Note:

  • The Trustees will not give money to pay debts or where there are existing funding sources available. 

  • Receipts are required for all purchases.
